Petra

Petra is an ancient city located in southern Jordan. It is best known for its buildings carved directly into pink sandstone cliffs. The most famous structure, often called the Treasury, greets visitors after a narrow passage through the rock.

Petra was once a major trading center, strategically positioned along important trade routes connecting Arabia, Egypt, and the Mediterranean region. Its inhabitants developed advanced systems for water collection and storage, allowing the city to thrive in a dry environment.

Today, Petra is a protected archaeological site. While much of the city remains unexcavated, the visible structures provide valuable insight into ancient urban planning and craftsmanship.

Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer is a large statue located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It stands on top of Mount Corcovado and overlooks the city below. The statue is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone and reaches over 30 meters in height.

Completed in the early 20th century, the statue has become a symbol of peace and hospitality. Its elevated position offers wide views of Rio’s coastline, mountains, and neighborhoods.
